About the Position

For our Offshore Solutions Procurement department we are looking for a Global Buyer to join a growing commodity team. Offshore Solutions is a global commodity within our Service business unit serving both Service and Offshore business units, responsible for all procurement activities relating to offshore logistics assets and associated services.
This Global Buyer will report into the Global Commodity Manager, ensuring the effective and optimal sourcing of the different services, for the commodities and vendors assigned, and required by the operating areas of the Installation and Services Regions in collaboration with the Regional Procurement Areas worldwide.

  • Crew Transfer Vessel charter
  • Helicopter charter
  • Ports and Port agency services
  • Technical services

What are my responsibilities?

  • Generate and execute procurement strategies to ensure market trends for the commodities included in scope are exploited in terms of health and safety, performance, quality and cost
  • Tendering processes management (RFQs, Negotiation and Awarding Proposals) for the different offshore logistics services required by SGRE operational areas
  • Collaborate with the Maritime and Aviation Solutions, Sales and Field Operations functions on the outsourcing scope and requirements according to the specific requirements of each client, tendering process and specific country/area/region
  • Sourcing. Identify new potential suppliers for new countries of operation and emerging markets through market research and supplier development
  • Represent Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) in supplier meetings and industry exhibition events
  • Coordinate and support the regional Service Procurement teams in relation to offshore logistics
  • Collaborate with the Legal Department in negotiating contracts with suppliers, in coordination with other internal departments (HSEQ, Field Operations, Finance, etc.).
  • Collaborate on cross functional projects of processes improvement
  • Monitor and develop performance of suppliers in the assigned commodities and evaluate the satisfaction of external and internal users
  • Promote cost reduction actions based on the targets set for required services
  • Report to the Global Commodity Manager of Offshore Solutions

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor/Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or similar areas of Education
  • 3-5 years of demonstrable experience in procurement functions of offshore logistics and/or subcontracted services or operational functions of offshore logistics
  • Deep understanding and professional experience with Procurement Contracts for offshore logistics and/or subcontracted services
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English language (other languages such as Mandarin or German/Spanish will be a plus for the candidate selection)
  • Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
  • Subcontractors market knowledge and experience in working across/with/for various functions, businesses and regions
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Skills with SAP and other Procurement Software (especially Ariba) will be considered as a plus
