Learn more about the programme. The position we offer You are in the midst of a data explosion; more data is generated every 2 days as was generated from the dawn of time until 2003. Data Scientists who can harness, understand and gain insight from the data deluge will become the most valued resources in years to come, Harvard Business Review famously described Data Science as the sexiest job of the 21st Century. Nordea is a bank with a lot of data. Data is critical to our business and our customers. We harness the power of data to understand the needs of our customers, provide our customers with a true digital experience through all our contact points with them and tailor our products to best meet their needs. Data is also our primary ammunition in the fight against wrong doing and bad behaviour as it powers our defensive capability in Risk, Fraud and Financial Crime. We are looking for people who understand the complexities of data and the techniques that are applied to raw information to gain insight from data. The day to day tasks can take many forms from working out a single view of a Customer (Entity Resolution) to plotting a visualisation that shows the money flow between customers in the global supply chain (graph analytics). Working in the Group Functions IT team will give you exposure to all the core data in Nordea and the challenges it brings. You will be working on the production of the largest data platform in the bank that produces reporting and analytics to regulators, customers and internal management. The qualifications you need We have high expectations of our graduates. We are seeking to recruit responsible talents with an aim to pursue and drive their own personal development within the framework provided by the Nordea Graduate Programme. You will be equally comfortable with IT, Statistics and Financial subject matters. You will be a naturally inquisitive and curious person who likes to question: why? Requirements: •A Master’s degree •A maximum of two years’ post-academic work experience •Excellent English language skills •Applied statistical knowledge •High level programming: SQL, R, Python •Data Visualisation experience: D3, Matlab •Understanding of Corporate Finance / Global Markets Furthermore, you need to pass an ability test that assesses numerical, verbal and inductive capabilities. In addition, we expect you to have personal ambition and to be a team player. You are confident, driven and possess the mindset to constantly improve your competencies and to develop. The position also requires a permanent work permit in Denmark.
