Can you master management at senior level and develop a complicated field of expertise? Join us and become Head of HV Services in Wind Power Operations within the business area of Execution Management, which is responsible for managing and maintaining a portfolio of High Voltage assets across sites in Denmark, UK and Germany – both during construction and in operation. You will lead an organisation responsible for ensuring that 'Safety from the System' is efficiently formalised, delivered and enforced through operating all High Voltage systems. It is your overall responsibility to ensure continuous compliance with relevant High Voltage safety regulations within the geographical footprint if the business is to prevent fatalities and serious incidents, as well as maintaining licenses to operate and prevent shut-downs of assets for longer periods. The Head of HV Services is responsible for ensuring that the High Voltage asset portfolio maintains high availability as part of the overall transmission system, connecting wind farms with the electrical transmission grid. Part of this is to ensure that emergency response procedures are in place at all times in the event of unplanned outages, faults, tripping equipment and cable failures. The department is part of Wind Power which has 1600 employees and is one of four business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at one of our Danish offices in either Skærbæk near Fredericia or Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility Your primary work tasks will be to conduct line management of team leads as well as permanent and contracted staff based at various locations, supporting both the Operations and Project Execution business units. You will drive efficiency and standardisation through continuous development of DONG Energy Electrical Safety Rules (DEESR) across all sites and all business units in Wind Power. Furthermore, your key duties will be to: •ensure sufficient competent persons are in place to deliver service contract obligations towards external partners and projects •engage with commercial business units that negotiate new commercial contracts with external parties to ensure that the HV Services business can deliver a cost-effective and safe setup •engage with authorities and grid operators to establish a prudent setup that ensures legislation and standards compliance. Your profile You have a technical background with a relevant engineering degree or equivalent and extensive experience working with electrical systems and high-voltage assets and equipment, preferably with knowledge of UK, German and EU safety regulations relating to HV work activities. You also have strong credentials in line management of technical and management staff with a proven record operating with an international remit. You have significant heavy industry experience with designing and building technical departments, developing and implementing process improvements. You have worked with operations & maintenance and in project environments. Another requirement is experience working in field (operating sites) and central office environments, and working closely with structured Permit to Work and HSE systems. You are also expected to have excellent influencing skills, a collaborative style and you resilient and process-minded and appreciate change management.
