The Department consist of a team of 28 engineers, 4 PLM specialists and 1 technical assistant that are handling and developing solutions for technical issues, repair/refurbishment, service optimization and After Sales related to mechanical and electrical systems and components incl. Gearboxes, Generators and Blades. The department operates primarily across Service & CIM, but also across Technology & Service Solutions and Service with interfaces and cooperation with the entire Vestas value chain, external suppliers and partners. The Department assign engineers and technical specialists to Platform projects and Repair, Service Optimization and After Sales projects. Additionally the department provides technical support to Service and ensures a feedback learning loop of operational experience upstream into new product development. Responsibilities: The Position manages and coaches the team. The Position negotiates engineering resource allocation from own department with Platform Managers and Heads from other functional areas. The Position reviews and assist the Platform Managers in project initiation, project progress and status, gate material and business cases. The Position must be a role model and play major role in developing technical excellence in project execution in Service & CIM Solutions, and must drive competence development (incl. DMAIC discipline and tools application) to ensure technical excellence in CIM, Repair/Refurbishment, After Sales and Service Optimization. The position is responsible for the department budget and spend Qualifications: The Position requires people management skills and experience, as well as business understanding, and naturally the position needs a large amount of experience within the engineering area. It is vital that the person in this position has a clear and unambiguous understanding of what is important and a compelling drive to do whatever it takes, and can communicate clearly to people on all levels in the organisation. The position requires a strong ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and it is a requirement that the person in this position is responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions. You have a relevant Masters degree in Engineering Relevant commercial or business administration degree (Bachelor, MBA etc.) as a supplement to your engineering degree is a plus 5-8 years’ experience as people manager, preferably related to R&D or service and repair of Wind Turbines or rotating heavy equipment including management of engineers Experience from setting up and/or leading teams within the components or systems re-engineering and refurbishment/remanufacturing solution-engineering area is a must Excellent leadership skills; communication, demonstrated ability in coaching, mentoring, motivating and developing engineers and technical specialists. You have the ability to keep a helicopter view on the progress of projects and the entire portfolio of projects You have solid experience in developing solutions and executing project deliverables using sub-contractors /suppliers Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification Additional information: Work place in either Aarhus or Ringkøbing.
