Electrical Engineering > Power Plant Engineering > Plant Electrical Engineering
In Power Plant Engineering we span across being in very close interaction with the market as well as being involved in various innovation activities with external collaborators while focusing on product development as our main objective. The core outputs within Power Plant Engineering are design of the electrical infrastructure of Vestas renewable Hybrid Power Plants, the Vestas Power Plant Controller and electrical simulation models of wind turbines, power plant controller and renewable power plants, utilizing the department's core competencies within Power System-, Control- and SW- Engineering. Plant Electrical Engineering is a department with Power Plant Engineering and focus mainly on the design of the electrical infrastructure and electrical simulation models.

Responsbilities
As a Lead Engineer in Plant Electrical Engineering, you will be a part of the Power Plant Electrical Infrastructure team and report to the Manager of Plant Electrical Engineering within Power Plant Engineering.

Your main responsibilities and tasks will be:

• Design and specification of Power Plant Electrical Infrastructure (PPEI) systems for hybrid Vestas Power Plants (HVPP) including PVs and battery storage, optimal in respect of standardization, minimal losses and Bill of Material (BoM) costs
• Responsible for developing standard Vestas guidelines for eBoP design including requirement specifications and design abstractJV_descriptions based on selected showcases for hybrid VPPs and major Grid Codes
• Responsible for receiving and handling special eBoP requests from Vestas regional business units
• Power Plant Engineering (PPE) representative in Vestas development of standard Technical Purchase Specifications (TPS) for all PPEI main components such as PV systems, storage systems, Medium Voltage (MV) cables, switchgear, transformers, power circuit breakers, surge arresters, shunt reactors/capacitors, STATCOMs, etc.

Qualifications

• M.Sc.EE or B.Sc.EE (High Voltage or Power systems Engineer) combined with minimum of 6 years of professional experience
• You have a proven track record in planning and designing eBoP systems for combined power plants
• You have detailed knowledge of major power plant components for eBoP such as transformers, cables, switchgear, power circuit breakers, surge arresters, shunt reactors, shunt capacitors, STATCOMs
• You are experienced within electrical integration of renewable power generation and grid codes
• You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains within grid integration of renewable power plants like ancillary services, main circuit design, protection, HVDC, eBoP equipment
• User knowledge on power system steady state and dynamic analysis. Knowledge of simulation model development (PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, PowerFactory)
• You may have worked with Grid operators, Power generators, Utilities, Grid consulting companies, Transmission- or Distribution companies etc.

Additional information
Primary work location is in Aarhus, Denmark.
Position requires around 15 travel days a year.
