Are you talented in working with text mining and in monitoring, discovering and analysing information from scientific data sources? If so we have a very challenging and attractive opportunity for you to become a member of the Science & Patent Information Research team at Novo Nordisk, Global Information & Analysis (GLIA) in Bagsværd, Denmark. This is a temporary position (maternity leave) to be filled from 1 June 2019.

About the department

You will join 20 dedicated colleagues within the Novo Nordisk Global Information and Analysis department, which offers a worldwide service function to headquarters and affiliates. Our purpose is to ensure that internal customers have easy and global access to quality information sources and professional research services supporting their needs. This is your chance to join forces with one of the most competent and prestigious information research departments of the global pharmaceutical industry and bring about information intelligence that benefits people with chronic disease conditions worldwide. The position offers you a unique combination of science and information research.

The position

As an Information Scientist your primary function will be to support innovation and collaboration within our text mining initiatives and to provide information support to a variety of global and local teams in research and development.

With an outgoing drive you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and promoting a robust portfolio of information services to existing and potential stakeholders based on data analysis tools. Core tasks will include data analysis and visualisation, project management, surveillance of medical and scientific literature, ad hoc information searches, tailoring of scientific alerts, literature analyses and structured presentation of scientific information. In our team we are mostly working with textual data.

Qualifications

Life Science profile with solid IT qualifications:

To qualify for the position you hold a Master´s degree within Medical, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical or Biological Sciences or similar, accompanied by experience within data analysis and project management. You have experience in scientific database searching and skills within analytical tools like e.g. I2E, SciBite, Spotfire and Qlik. Novo Nordisk business understanding and knowledge about Novo Nordisk products will be an advantage. As a person you are outgoing, self-dependent and thrive on being the initiator. Also you like to manage stakeholders and provide excellent service. Your good spirit and solid collaboration skills make you an asset for both your team and the department in general. Last but not least, you excel in written and spoken English.
