About the department R&D Communication and Patient Partnering supports the global R&D organisation; a community of ~6,000 employees based in Denmark, the US, India and China. Our focus is to connect and support our stakeholders, challenge ‘business as usual’, drive knowledge sharing, and transform opportunities into R&D focused communication, branding, insights, and partnerships in support of the Corporate Strategy and Novo Nordisk’s commitment to patients and innovative science. The position This internship is a unique opportunity to contribute in building significant new communication channels and partnerships, while contributing to the day-to-day operation of a fast-paced department. You will be responsible for driving internal and external R&D related activities, in particular around The World Diabetes Day and the annual R&D patient leaders summit, which includes key responsibilities for pre and post event production, event promotion, and engagement of key external and internal stakeholders. This will, among other things, include interaction and building strategies with global patient organisations within our therapy areas. We are looking to accelerate our internal and external patient partnership platforms where we are closely involved with other functions across the Novo Nordisk value chain as well as industry leaders from across the globe. You will be instrumental in securing timeline input from stakeholders, preparing presentations, and maintaining our internal SharePoint pages. You will also be providing ad-hoc project management support to our large portfolio of patient partnership projects, which are executed in collaboration with research and development teams across our therapy areas. This will include assisting with planning and coordination of workshops, creation of visual materials and follow-up reports, as well as facilitation during sessions. You will be responsible for analysing and reporting on campaigns, channels, and events of key importance for the team as well as ensuring monthly reports and implementing recommendation for future partnership opportunities. •Internship Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 6 months •Start date: 1 September 2016 Qualifications We are looking for an intern who is passionate about purposeful communication and making a difference to people afflicted by chronic diseases. You are likely currently studying for your master degree in communication, business administration, organisational strategy, business management, digital innovation, event management or similar. It is also an advantage if you have experience with the pharmaceutical industry and/or working with non-governmental organisations. You are a Microsoft Office super user; especially when it comes to PowerPoint and you are acquainted with SharePoint or other CMS. You are an outgoing person with a strong personal drive and dedication. Skills such as multitasking, managing a high level of information, problem-solving, ability to work across functions, as well as creativity will help you in this internship. You have professional and personal impact that is reflected in your desire to take initiative. In addition, you thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude and a healthy sense of humour to your work ,even when the pressure is on. Finally, you must have a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning and deliverables.
