About the department Novo Nordisk’s patients are highly dependent on their devices always being reliable and functional, also when used under extreme conditions. Our structural specialists in Engineering Analysis play a significant role in optimising and securing the reliability of our devices in collaboration with the project teams. They carry out structural simulations and analyses to identify potential failures and support the projects in finding solutions to reduce the risk of failure. The position You will join the Engineering Analysis team in coordinating and handling development tasks related to structural engineering. Your tasks will include: Understanding the device and identifying critical areas in the design. Analysis of device designs both in early and late-stage development to identify and prioritise the risk level and safety factors of the design. Communication of results and risks to the projects’ stakeholders. Identifying solutions to reduce the risk of failure. Your working day will be very dynamic with many different types of activities cooperating with a wide range of internal customers and dedicated experts within Novo Nordisk. You will work in close collaboration with your learning partner. Internship Period: The internship position is a full-time position for 4-6 months. Start date: 1. August 2016 or earlier based on individual agreement Qualifications We are looking for a candidate on the with interests and knowledge within Structural Analysis (Finite Element), Solid Mechanics and preferably materials. You will be doing finite element analyses in Abaqus and Hyperworks (both explicit and implicit) as well as analytical models using e.g. MathCad, so experience with these tools is preferred. As you will be supporting our projects in finding solutions, understanding their challenges and being able to use analytical results to drive design changes and identify optimal solutions is desirable. Excellent conversational skills and fluency in written and spoken English are important. You are an outgoing person with a strong personal drive and dedication. You can apply your knowledge to solve practical problems. Your analytical and structured approach combined with your innovative and curious mind-set help you in problem solving situations. In addition, you bring a can-do attitude and a healthy sense of humour to your work. Finally, you must have a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning.
