About the department You will be working in the world’s largest insulin plant in Kalundborg - Insulin Manufacturing 1 (IM1). Your new colleagues have many different backgrounds and functions, and during your internship, you will learn a lot about the complex nature of large-scale pharmaceutical production. The LEAN Partners team support managers in meeting business needs through the development of LEAN systems and methods across the facility. Our main focus is to identify means to improve our facility, our work flows and equipment, and implement them. You will be part of a department within the production, cooperating with the LEAN Partners team working across the facility, and gain a complex understanding of how we work with LEAN in Novo Nordisk. The LEAN Partners team consists of people with many different backgrounds – from business professionals and IT specialists to engineers and pharmacists – and we share an ambition to create effective results, the curiosity and drive to always look further – and a quite informal tone all round. The position We strive to continuously improve our processes and procedures, so that we remain the best in our field. This we do by extensive data collection and analysis, the identification and sharing of best practices, and an accentuated overall focus on quality and production stability. Through intensive collaborations across the organization, we design and implement changes that help us be better, faster and make fewer mistakes. In all of Novo Nordisk, LEAN tools and methods help us reach this goal. Together with the LEAN Partners team, you will get acquainted with different approaches to data collecting, just as you will be working with different tools for analysis – you can expect to be challenged, but also to receive the support from colleagues and managers that allow you to succeed. One of our important institutions is our board meetings. Everything we do is visualized and communicated through the use of performance boards; tasks and projects are allocated, progress timelines are updated, and the immediate future is planned. You will be instrumental in updating these boards, and in doing so, quickly become a part of the daily routines of your department. Internship Period:The internship position is a full-time position for approx. 6 months. Start date:1st of August 2016. Qualifications We are looking for an intern who is passionate about production efficiency and optimizations. You are currently studying on your master’s degree – perhaps in business administration or engineering. Or maybe something entirely different – there could be many roads to this internship. We expect you to be service minded, thrive in a busy environment and bring a can-do attitude. We work databased in Novo Nordisk, so excellent skills in Excel are required, as are general analytical skills and a certain proficiency in statistics, as well as fluency in both oral and written English. You are an outgoing person with a strong personal drive and dedication. You have professional and personal impact that is reflected in your desire to take initiative – and your ability to follow through. In addition, you bring a healthy sense of humour to your work – even when the pressure is on. Finally, you must have strong work ethics and willingness to take responsibility for your own learning. Candidates who will write their master thesis from February 2017 will be preferred as it is an option to prolong the intern period. Both your skill set and your comfort zone will be expanded through the many different challenges you will be given
