The Carlsberg Research Laboratory is looking for a laboratory technician to strengthen our plant abiotic stress research team. As a laboratory technician you will join an experienced international team of scientists and work in a dynamic research environment. You will be part of a world leading global company with outstanding research facilities including excellently equipped laboratories, greenhouses and field testing facilities. As Laboratory Technician you will be involved with and/or responsible for: •Carrying out and supporting current and new research projects within abiotic stress responses in barley such as activity assays, analytical applications and genetic and molecular analysis. •Handling of plants in the greenhouse. •Supervision of MSc and PhD students while working in the laboratory. •Preparation of standard liquid/solid media and buffers, maintenance of laboratory equipment and enforcing a tidy laboratory. Personal Qualifications: •You have an education as laboratory technician or BSc. •You are experienced in working with molecular biology, physiology or biochemistry of plants and are familiar with RNA and DNA isolation, PCR, plasmid preparations, cloning, heterologous expression, biochemical assays, GC- or LC-MS analyses, and enzyme isolation. •Some years of experience from working in a research environment and in handling plants would be an asset. •You are confident to work in a team, but also individually and independently, and you are used to taking the full ownership of your tasks. •You are well organized, efficient, and highly self-motivated with good communication skills and an ability to contribute to a good social atmosphere at your work place. •You are fluent in English.
