Our development engineers are the core resources, securing that Vestas Wind Systems A/S will succeed in developing our well known products in the future. The Cooling, Conditioning and Enclosure Department contributes strongly in the development of future wind turbines. The department is anchored in a central position in the organization. It consists of highly skilled employees located in Denmark and India. The department is Vestas' competence center for design of nacelle covers and associated structures. Within this field we are responsible for the complete cover system down to every single detail and component. It is also our responsibility to ensure and verify the design and all components comply with requirements. Responsibilities: With report to the Cooling, Conditioning and Enclosure department line manager and with support from senior specialists, your main responsibility and tasks as Specialist, Covers, will be to design and develop the covers and encapsulations for our wind turbines. This will include: Work with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of composite nacelle cover on system (assembly) level as well as on component level. This includes but is not limited to specifying the analysis, meshing, materials, boundary conditions, load definitions, solving and results interpretation. Work with various types of analysis like static (linear and nonlinear), dynamic and fatigue. Also failure mechanism and modes can be a part of the job. Work with strength of materials, especially on composite materials and structures Document results for certifying bodies and ensure approval. Work closely together with our designers in optimizing our design. Review the work of colleagues and bring guidance for improvement Take part in Technology roadmap activities for further development of the technical area Qualifications: The ideal candidate has one or more of the following qualifications: Experienced B.Sc or M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering specialized in composite materials and manufacturing processes Good knowledge of strength of materials Competences within ProE and PDM link on standard user level Experience gained from working with quality systems, six sigma or similar as well as experience with ERP/change management systems will be seen as an advantage A global mindset will be seen as an advantage Strong English language skills, both oral and written.
