Copenhagen Local/International Drilling Ref.: MO-054259 For more than 50 years Maersk Oil’s Danish Business Unit has built technological and organisational know-how in operation tight chalk fields under the tough and challenging conditions of the Danish North Sea. Examples of this are the management of wells, reservoirs and facilities to prolong lifetime of the fields and the development and use of horizontal wells to increase the recovery factor. The majority of the producing oil and gas fields in the Danish North Sea is operated by Maersk Oil in the partnership Danish Undergrounds Consortium (DUC) with Shell, Nordsøfonden and Chevron. We are on a journey to increase production and are now looking to recruit an experienced Lead Operations Engineer based in our office in Copenhagen to support the drilling operations in the Danish Business Unit. As Lead Operations Engineer you will report directly to the Head of Drilling Operations and hence you will be close to the decision making process and also in a position to influence this. Key Responsibilities As Lead Operations Engineer you will provide the necessary support for the preparation and documentation of drilling, completion and work-over design and operational programs, in this regard you will also provide input to continuously improvement of the performance of the operations. You will have a crucial role in coaching and guiding the operations engineers in drilling engineering analyses and in ensuring the quality and timely deliverables. More specifically your tasks can fall within: • Ensuring uniform quality of drilling , workover and completion programs across the teams and timely delivery of operational reports, final well reports etc. • Coaching and guiding operations engineers in aspects such as torque and drag, hydraulics, hole cleaning, directional drilling, well control and casing design. • Participation in well delivery process gate reviews and handover sessions • Risk assessment meetings for upcoming drilling and work-over projects • Ensuring timely and accurately production of cost estimates and cost reporting • Collating weekly and monthly reports to management and external stakeholders Who we are looking for You have a background in Engineering on at least a BSc level with a substantial experience in drilling engineering and production at a lead level, preferably in several different companies. We expect you to be proficient in drilling engineering principles and software applications such as Landmark’s Stress Check, Compass etc. You should also be familiar with setting up drilling performance dashboards with relevant KPI’s for Drilling and Work over operations. On the personal side you are proactive, extrovert and with a natural curiosity. Further you are a strong communicator, who knows how to establish easy and efficient relations with various internal and external stakeholders.
