Technology & Service Solutions, Service Engineering, Plant Solutions, Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre Vestas is currently seeking to fill a position as Lead Performance Engineer in the Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre, Vestas Technology & Service Solutions (TSS). The department is globally responsible for enabling customers to increase their return while reducing the costs and risks associated with operating wind power plants. Hence the department focuses on driving down service costs and optimizing power plant performance. In recent years Vestas has established a powerful remote monitoring capability, collecting data from more than 30,000 turbines worldwide. This data is analyzed within the Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre and the insights generated here are used across the business to manage maintenance and increase the reliability and availability of the wind power plants. The department works across the entire value chain and is hence heavily interlinked to turbine development, sales and service providing valuable data analyses transforming innovative technologies and concepts into new products and service offerings. The Vestas Performance & Diagnostics Centre is a global department with a staff of more than 25 dedicated performance engineers having competencies in mathematics, statistics and physics and also mechanical engineering and design. The department coordinates performance related activities with colleagues around the world and is searching for an independent performance engineer with a strong analytical background and excellent communication skills to lead and expand our reliability activities. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director of the department, your main task will be to develop conditional monitoring capabilities, data driven tools and methodologies to improve turbine reliability, plant performance and maintenance strategies. Essential functions: •You will primarily be working with: •Analyzing turbine data and developing conditional monitoring algorithms / systems to improve and secure optimal turbine performance. •Developing software solutions for optimization of the Vestas service business. Qualifications: Preferably holds a Ph.D. or Master's Degree within Mathematics, Physics, Statistics or Engineering. You are open minded and innovative, have a high level of drive and a capability to maintain a result and quality oriented profile. You work systematic and analytically and you are a team player that likes knowledge sharing. Ideally you will have the following experiences: •Has 5 years of experience with advanced data analysis or database development from a university or from a similar position. •Must be a highly self-motivated results orientated candidate able to excel as part of a global team with little day-to-day oversight. •Has Experience with Six Sigma, preferably holds a green belt •Has project management experience. •Requires high level oral and written communication skills and good customer service skills to work with customers, consultants and global cross-functional teams. •Excellent skills in English – oral and written. Competencies: •Experience with conditional monitoring systems. •Experience with R, SQL, Python, High Performance Computing and Hadoop is preferred.
