Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-043225 The Tyra field itself is Denmark’s largest gas field. This complex, offshore chalk field has been on production for 30 years with over 100 wells, many of which are long horizontals. It contained 4 Tcf of free gas, underlain by a thin active oil rim of some 500 MMstb and a large palaeo-oil zone. Development of its flanks continues with a new platform and 12 wells, the first of which will spud by the end of 2014. The process facilities on Tyra East and West are host to a number of satellite developments. After 30 years of production and subsidence driven by Chalk compaction, these facilities are due for renewal and/or rationalisation. A strategy must be developed for the (production from) existing wells to extend their life by another 30 years. Other fields in the Tyra Centre asset comprise oil and gas producing Danian and Maastrichtian chalk, gas producing Middle Jurassic sandstones and oil producing tight Lower Cretaceous limestones with varying applications of stimulation and completion technology. The field maturity range from yet undeveloped fields, including HPHT reservoirs, to fields with some 30 years production history requiring evaluation of secondary recovery and artificial lift options to maximise recovery and subsidence mitigation measures to maintain well integrity. The Lower Cretaceous formation has complex characteristics (fluid gradients, tilting free water levels, tight matrix with variable permeability enhancement) that require rigorous and consistent analysis and integration. A reservoir management strategy for the Valdemar field is required to bring the recovery factor in all parts to a uniform level. We Offer The position is for a reservoir engineer with a broad background in both operations and reservoir studies, including dynamic simulation. The lead RE has the responsibility for reservoir management of the portfolio in the Tyra Centre. The position offers the right candidate a challenging position and a lot of influence. Key Responsibilities • Technical leadership for the reservoir management activities for the Tyra Centre, coaching a number of engineers who manage some 100 active wells in 10 fields. • Integrate optimisation and data acquisition in a long term strategy where the Tyra host facility may be re-built in 2019-2020, which requires that relevant wells get salvaged. Develop a lifetime view of the wells and a reservoir management strategy for the satellite fields. • Identifying, justifying and ranking opportunities for well interventions. • Assisting the operational petroleum engineer, drilling, well services and production with the preparation of the intervention programs. • Providing reservoir engineering input to production surveillance (including metering and back-allocation), optimization and forecasting. • Liaising with the engineering department to ensure that facility capacity is used optimally, taking into account the production fed to the Tyra Centre from satellite fields. • Mentoring less experienced engineers Who we are looking for • The successful candidate will be self-motivated, self-reliant, possess strong analytical, technical and communication skills, enjoy mentoring less experienced engineers and working in a multi-disciplinary environment and have the ability to engage and motivate others • MSc degree in petroleum or reservoir engineering with at least 12-15 years relevant experience in the oil industry with a significant part in WRFM. Ability to integrate surveillance data, studies and input from other disciplines into reservoir management strategy and lifetime plan for wells. • Coach for other engineers with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills.
