The Novo Nordisk Foundation is looking for a Legal Officer with a broad corporate law background to join the legal team.

In the coming years, the Foundation will broaden its scope and increase its grants for scientific, humanitarian and social purposes. Consequently, there will be new job openings and exciting opportunities for employees to take part in forming the future of the Foundation.

Since 2010, the Foundation has donated more than DKK 16 billion (€2.1 billion), primarily for research at public institutions and hospitals in Denmark and the other Nordic countries. 

The Job
As part of the legal team you will contribute to handling all legal matters and provide value-creating advice of the highest professional standard in relation to all our grant activities, projects, compliance matters, contract matters as well as and legal advisory to the organization.

Your tasks will among others be:

• Daily legal support and sparring to the organization and relevant stakeholders
• Provide legal advice to the grant giving departments, including drafting grant agreements
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and statutory regulations

The legal team consists of three team members with diverse backgrounds and experience. We strive for the highest quality, and value collegial feedback in a trust-based working environment.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for a Legal Officer with 1-2 years’ generalist lawyer experience from one of the top tier law firms or as an in-house attorney.

Furthermore, we expect that you have:

• A Master of Laws and license to practice law
• Broad corporate law background
• Experience with writing commercial contracts, reviewing, interpreting and translating legal matters
• Strong legal drafting skills in English
• A commercial mindset and business understanding

Personal Qualifications
We are looking for a Legal Officer with the following characteristics:

• Analytical, proactive and who apply a commercial approach to legal issues with a focus on cooperation and achieving sound and balanced results
• Professional and quality-conscious
• Ability to work as a team member 
• Independent and able to make decisions and provide input when needed
• Proactive and with a structured approach to problem-solving 
• Intellectual quickness, curiosity, discipline and resourcefulness 
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build good relationships
