Join Vestas as Manager for Engineering Northern Hub in Regional Operation and Support, You’ll be managing a department that provides technical support mainly to the service departments in Scandinavia, UK/Ireland and Poland. Regional Operation and Support. Regional Operation and Support is spread across the world supporting the local Sales, Construction and Service departments with technical knowledge and acting as the link between R&D and these local business units. As part of this Engineering & Support for EMEA (Europe Middle East and Africa) consists of 3 engineering departments located in North, Center and South Europe plus a 24/7 control & monitoring center in Spain. Engineering Northern Hub consists of 13 people all located in Videbæk, Denmark. The main areas of support are Mechanical (gearboxes, yaw, hydraulic, lubricants), Electrical (generator converter, control system), Software and Blades. The main tasks for the department includes: providing direct phone support to service technicians in troubleshooting and repair, evaluating damage on main components, providing answers to technical questions internal and external and taking part in customer meetings and seminars. Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director for Engineering and Support EMEA, you will be part of the management team and take leadership for implementing Vestas strategy, aligning and simplifying procedures across EMEA, securing customer focus, safety and help driving down service costs. The key responsibilities include: • Provide effective leadership that achieves a highly aligned, engaged and motivated team that produces high-level results against operational objectives. •Ensure team members understand how their work relate to business objectives. •Establish and maintain good and productive relationships with the customer and internal partners. •Responsible for all employment matters including hiring, employee relations, performance management, performance appraisals, etc. •Work closely with Engineering departments throughout Vestas. Develop and implement best practices •Ensure focus on Safety. •Manage budget. Qualifications: •A relevant technical education. •Excellent communication skills and fluent in English. •5 year + experience within the wind power business preferably in Technology or Service area. Competencies: •Good leadership skills.
