In Power Plant Engineering, we focus on product development as our main activity. We lead early scoping and execution of technology activities. This is done with our deep power system-, control- and SW knowledge, and based on the understanding of the market. 
In Power Plant Engineering we work with the entire renewable hybrid power plant. We value initiative, taking leadership and being self-driven.Plant Control Engineering is a part of Power Plant Engineering. In Plant Control Engineering we are responsible for the development of the Vestas Hybrid Power Plant Controller which enables grid-code compliance for all Vestas Power Plants connected in power systems worldwide. The development activities in the department involve power system engineering, controls development, embedded and real-time software development, release management and product support to specialist and technicians in regional Vestas business units.
We need a dedicated people manager for Plant Control Engineering to continuously develop team competences and performance. But also to align expectations with various stakeholders while ensuring that we deliver on business-critical projects. You will be managing a highly technical area operating between commercially and strategically driven objectives.

Responsibilities
You will be responsible for all operations in the Plant Control Engineering area, and report to the Director of Power Plant Engineering. More specifically, your responsibilities will cover:

• People management (one-one dialogues, development plans, target settings, etc.)
• Understand and fulfill the needs of key commercial stakeholders 
• Prioritise between long term R&D project activities, medium term development activities and short term operational support
• Ensure the right usage of engineering-contractors in the area
• Leading new way of working together with our colleagues in the Porto Design Center
• Support technical roadmap and definitions for plant level electrical infrastructure in Vestas
• Department budgeting and resource allocations
• Facilitate planning sessions and follow up on progress
• Implement optimizations in processes and tools to reduce time and increase quality

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in engineering probably within the controls, software or electrical area
• Approximately 8-10 years' professional experience
• Minimum 5 years' line- (or project) management experience
• Good cultural understanding and international working experience
• You have the desire and the ability to understand and maintain overview of a wide range of advanced technical domains 
• Good communication skills in English 

Experience with the following qualifications would be an advantage:

• Control or SW engineering 
• Business cases and project governance
• Process project, product and software development

Additional information
