Vestas Technology & Service Solutions A/S, Test & Validation, Materials Testing The Materials Testing department is part of Technology & Service Solution in Vestas Wind Systems A/S. It is our responsibility to test and validate materials used in our wind turbines. We service the entire Vestas organization with our specialized knowledge and extensive capabilities within materials (metals, composites, polymers, rubber etc.) The department consists of a team of Engineers and Technicians, located at the Technology & Service Solutions headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, in Lem, Denmark and at Isle of wright in UK. Our activities increase the reliability of our turbines, producing more clean energy with fewer service intervals and thus creating more value for our customers. Responsibilities: You will be involved in both new development projects and continuous improvement projects in your daily work. You will have a key role in our Material Laboratory activities and with your specialized knowledge you will ensure the quality of our validation activities. With your out-going personality you build and maintain good relations with your stakeholders across Vestas. You are able to handle many projects simultaneously and in different phases. Specifically, your tasks will include to: Create test specifications, descriptions and test-set ups, for both standard and non-standard tests Develop test-procedures, methods and tools for test Create and maintain standard operating procedures for the laboratory Support Technicians in establishing new test equipment and create manuals Participate in root-cause analysis when repetitive failure of equipment occur Give input to new equipment specification based on required test-set up Create test documentation and test reports Support technicians in test execution Support designers and projects in choosing the correct test-set-up Qualifications: A B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Materials engineering, Materials Science or similar A couple of years' experience in materials testing would is preferable, but not required Competencies: Preferably you have experience with mechanical testing (static and fatigue), thermal measurements (e.g. DSC, DMA, TGA), rheological measurements and other (e.g. FT-IR, N-IR etc.) Experience with testing composite materials and/or environmental treatment (e.g. UV, salt, heat, moist) is advantageous Knowledge of Six Sigma tools or similar Good communications skills, and proficient in written and spoken English, and preferably spoken Danish You master Microsoft Excel for data processing You are a pro-active and self-driven person What we offer: We offer you a challenging job with professional and personal development opportunities in an inspiring, international work environment with the global leader in Wind Energy.
