Help bring us into the future As Material Test Specialist, you will use your knowledge of materials to provide guidance and direction to our testing efforts. Collaborating with a team of Laboratory Technicians and Material Specialists, you will develop and specify new methodologies and research methods related to thermal, chemical and mechanical analysis in order to analyse and develop current and future material types. In doing so, you: Conduct advanced qualification of metals, resins, colouring and decoration material used in the LEGO® Boxes Keep mechanical and analytical methods up to date with best testing practices and market standards while scouting for new methods Develop and maintain technical specifications, selecting and acquiring new test equipment and software Interpret test data using statistical methods and maintain and develop procedures to secure high quality data management Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners in order to develop our testing platform Support our Planet Promise At the LEGO Group we continuously strive to improve the products we make and the way we make them by raising our environmental performance. Experienced and enthusiastic Test Specialist In this position, you will get to live out your natural curiosity and passion for innovation. Using this, you will have great influence on developing and structuring our testing practices and methods and setting the tone for how we generate and share material test data and knowledge. To succeed in this role: You have a e.g. M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Material Engineering You have 3+ years of practical experience working as a Material Test Specialist, Test engineer or similar You have experience running standard and non-standard testing techniques - analytical (FTIR, SEM, XRF), mechanical (Tensile, Impact, DMA) and thermal (DSC, TGA) You have solid knowledge of material characterization, including polymer/plastics, metals, and composites You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to present effectively to business, technical and non-technical people Bringing it to life 'In this job, you will get a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the LEGO® Brick and set the agenda for the materials we use – all while continuously making sure that everything we do ties in to our LEGO DNA,' says Karin Abel, Director Materials.
