We are therefore looking for a Mechanical Developer with design experience and interest in the electronics part to our PCB team, who can strengthen our R&D Hearing Instrument Amplifiers and Connectivity devices group (HIAC). HIAC is responsible for developing the electronics part of Oticon hearing aids and connectivity devices.

Become part of the PCB team
We are a passionate and highly specialized team of seven Mechanical and PCB designers. We are “doing magic” within small areas – considering tolerances and finding space, where there hardly is no space at all: Our main competency is to design the smallest possible flex PCB’s for the Hearing Instrument or rigid PCB solutions for the connectivity products. We push the design guides to the limits and continually work and explore ways of doing things smaller.

 

As a Mechanical Engineer in the PCB team you will work closely together with the PCB designer, who do the routing of the PCB and the mechanical team responsible for the Hearing instrument design. Your role is to be responsible of the integration of the PCB solution into the Hearing Instrument. This require deeply knowledge of the flex PCB material properties, manufacturing processes & CAD modelling – areas we are gladly will train you within. All in all, you will be involved in all steps of product development - from initial product specification to handover for mass-production.

You will be responsible for…

• Designing the Mechanical PCB model in close co-operation with the PCB designers and the mechanical team.
• Working closely together with our production facilities and support in solving issues related to the PCB assembly manufacturing and to understand and optimize the manufacturing processes and tolerances
• Understanding and expanding the knowledge within the PCB material properties
• Designing custom components for the Hearing Instrument

And you have experience within…

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant education + some years of work experience
• Mechanical design and hardware integration
• Interest or even experience within electronics integration
• Use of the CAD program CREO Parametric or similar CAD programs
• Working with tolerances and design for manufacturing
• Working with miniaturization
