Job ID: 224640 Location: Vejle Organization: Siemens in Denmark – Siemens Wind Power – http://www.siemens.com/windpower Mode of employment: Full Time For our next groundbreaking wind turbine development project located in Vejle, we are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with experience in mechanical and Hydraulics design and with a profound wish to develop the next generation of internal crane solutions. This job position is very well suited to future colleagues that really enjoy working through the full development stream: From idea, to concept, to prototype and all the way to a final product that will set the standards for operation and serviceability inside a wind turbine nacelle. You will be working in a large cross functional development team that joins together many bright and young heads – and with the many stakeholders you will experience a dynamic, competent and dedicated development environment. What are my responsibilities? · You will be responsible for the development of an internal service crane in close contact with market leading suppliers · Part of your assignment will be to ensure that the service crane will operate flawlessly during its entire lifetime (we have the needed design data) · Another part of your job will be to ensure that cost and quality targets are met – plus use- and serviceability and Ease of Assembly (at the manufacturing line) · You will be involved in some degree of hydraulic design together with our hydraulic department · You will off course take part in supplier selection and evaluation · You have the technical ownership during prototype fabrication and serial production, both at supplier and at our local manufacturing facilities · You will have a lot of technical sparring with the supplier during the development of the prototype of the service crane What do I need to qualify for this job? · You are a mechanical engineer with maybe 5 years of experience within mechanical design - preferably from the loader crane industry but can also be from the hydraulic industry · You are hopefully familiar with the rules and regulations of the loader crane industry - this also includes design rules for steel wire ropes · You have a trained eye for costs versus design criteria · You are thorough and structured · You are persistent · You are independent and self-igniting · You really enjoy cross functional team work and understand team dynamics · You are fair and trustworthy · You have excellent English skills (talk/write) In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
