The Cooling and Conditioning team is a part of the Vestas Power Solutions and we have sites in both Denmark, India and Portugal. The department is responsible for the design, specification and documentation of the cooling and conditioning system in the wind turbine. We are also responsible for the fire suppression system in the turbine and this system is in focus and developing.

In the department, we are responsible for design and analysis from the early concept study for new turbines to the final specification for production. Additionally, we are also looking ahead to verify new technologies such that these can be part of future turbine projects.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for generating creative solutions to design challenges, to fulfil the product and technology road maps
• Delivery of design work to gate reviews and to the project, matching specifications for function, cost, quality and time
• Work successfully with the departmental and project delivery teams by living up to the Vestas Values
• Design Engineer is responsible for providing the most robust, reliable, efficient design solution with highest performance and lowest cost.
• Take ownership of own career and competence development
• Maintain awareness of engineering practices and technology developments
• Safe working in line with HS&E policy
• Design Engineer is accountable for understanding, clarifying and documenting

Qualifications

• M.Sc or B.Sc within Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Minimum 2 years of experience preferably within wind industry
• You have experience in with component design and verification of the design
• Knowledge about test setup
• Knowledge about Thermodynamic and fluid dynamic.
• Knowledge about data collection and analysis
• Knowledge of system engineering tools like DFMEA, HSE assessments, documentation
• Good English communication skills.

Additional information
Work location is Århus, Denmark. Up to 30 days travel per year can be expected.
