We are an affiliate to the Grundfos Group and responsible for developing and marketing technological solutions for wastewater treatment within municipal, hospital and industrial applications. We are now starting our journey towards selling plant projects to customers, which requires drafting project proposals, calculating costs and winning projects. As we win projects, they need to be executed and the mechanical systems need to be designed, purchased, quality assured and documented. Moreover, we are in the process of standardising and modularising as many of our products as possible. This means that we need your thoughts on how to carry out this process in order to minimise the time we spend on each project and to have more standardised components to use in each project. Thus, your job will be to design and execute mechanical engineering parts of Grundfos BioBooster wastewater treatment plants. Being part of designing the components for the plants, you work with everything from pricing, design and materials to functionality and purchasing. You also support the production when your designs are produced, and work on-site when the plants are built, which entails carrying out quality assurance, documentation and CE marking. “Your very first challenge will be to understand our business. But the main challenge in this position is to build standardisation over time. That is really the key to success. It requires you to be able to look at the whole thing from a helicopter perspective in order to pick the right details for each project,” Jakob says. What do you need to apply? You are a Mechanical Engineer at minimum B.Sc. level. Preferably, you hold knowledge and experience from a similar industry, which has provided you with skills in designing pumps, pipes and tanks for liquid based systems as well as designing process aeration and air treatment systems. Moreover, you can work on doing noise and ventilation calculations as well as heat/insulation energy balance calculations. You have experience with pricing installation, product development and modularisation, combined with standardisation of project execution procedures, design manuals and QC. Also, you have experience with CE marking according to the Machine and Pressure Holding Directive. Some experience with project management/coordination is an advantage, and you are familiar with CAD. You speak and write English fluently. “On a personal level, you possess a good drive and a great sense of quality and detail.
