Vestas Technology & Service Solutions; Nacelle, Power & Handling; Nacelle Engineering; Nacelle Engineering Improvements The department Nacelle Engineering Improvements is part of Vestas´ Technology & Service Solutions organization. Vestas Technology & Service Solutions is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, maintained and tested. Vestas Technology & Service Solutions operate on a global scale with more than 1,300 employees. Nacelle Engineering Improvements consists of 10 highly skilled employees located in Denmark and India. The department is responsible for improvements of various systems i.e. Yaw, Cooling, Conditioning, Enclosure, Front structure, Rear structure and Access and Maintenance Systems. This position is broad across the various systems. There will be some specific components for which our new colleague will be responsible like bolt and fasteners. We are responsible for the improvement of the various systems on an overall basis down to every single detail and component. It is our responsibility to improve and maintain design, specifications and verify according to the requirements set. Further we have a close corporation with many departments inside as well as outside Vestas. For this position some of the components are supplied from external suppliers. A close interaction with our sourcing department is required to ensure we get the right product from suppliers and the supplier develop accordingly. Responsibilities: You will become a member of a global engineering team of using modern design tools to improve the Service Support System for our wind turbines. You will work together with highly skilled project team members and support each other with excellent technical knowhow. You will develop and embed in-depth knowledge and methodology for this specific field. You will Work with mechanical systems and components Have responsibility for specific components like bolt and fasteners but not limited to this Work with improvements, requests for none standard products, cost outs and service cases Work with technical design documentation such as: system/component requirements; DFMEA´s; Design Descriptions; Interface diagrams; Concept of Operation descriptions; Health, Safety and Environment Risk Assessments; Design Verification Plans; Design Verification/test Procedures and Reports Globally work together internal and external with purchase, suppliers, production, service, installation, transportation, etc. Cooperate and interface to many other systems and components Cooperate with many different stakeholders like sourcing in development of suppliers and their components and engineers from other departments Qualifications: Bachelors’ or Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering design Preferably +3 years of experience in design and specification of mechanical systems and components Preferably experience in mechanical design and specification in accordance to international norms and standards Preferably experience from the wind industry Competencies: As an Engineer within Nacelle Engineering Improvements you should have talent and flair for taking the responsibility for small projects and task driving them through and ensure implementation. This is improvement projects, requests for none standard products, cost outs and service cases of mechanical systems. This goes from scoping to implementation on overall system level as well as on component and detailed level. This means take the inquiries analyze it, make a plan and execute.
