Description

Radiometer is a worldwide leader in the Transcutaneous (TC) business. To keep this leading position, Radiometer develops our TC system and applications to meet customer needs. 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join Radiometer’s TC System Development team. You become part of an interdisciplinary team with diverse backgrounds related to chemistry, electronics, mechanics, and software engineers. The team is a diverse and well-functioning group. There are frequent whiteboard meetings were tasks are assigned and responsibilities aligned in the team. 

You report to Senior Manager, Stefan Cuoni Teilmann, who has a strong focus on maintaining the great enthusiasm in the team. Stefan explains: 

“We are reaching several milestones and we have to celebrate those product upgrades. From my years in the industry, I know it is a privilege to be part of product releases as we are. I usually bake a cake for those occasions to acknowledge the team’s efforts. 

While we work with product maintenance now, I still encourage the employees to consider future concepts for our products. We have the lab and resources available to test new things.”

 

Design, analysis and key responsibilities

One day you might be having a meeting with our sub-contractor to discuss your proposed implementation of the next planned change and addition to our HW platform. You may get input to processes that you will then discuss with our system or electrical engineers and may find that the planned change are ready to be implemented after update of the requirements spec and the dFMEA. 

Another day you may discuss with the lab technician how the best way of testing the new prototype parts that you have received from our toolshop. The parts are used to test an idea for a new concept to improve the platform further, but before implementation, we need to ensure that they are properly specified and tested. 

We have 3D-print and CNC milling facilities at our disposal in our workshop in Brønshøj making quick conversions of drawings to prototypes possible.

 

Key responsibilities:

• Document, Design, develop and debug existing hardware products.

• Creation of Drawing and production documentation (e.g. BOM update and design for manufacture)

• Design and develop products, components, processes, and systems using broad engineering concepts and research techniques.

• Specify new product functional requirements; design, test and integrate components to produce final design.

• Write technical documentation such as design and test specifications.

• Stay updated on use of 3D tools (Creo)  

It is important that you like to work with Product Life Cycle Management / Product upgrades as this is our focus for the coming years.

Qualifications 

You like to work with people and you are detail oriented and enjoy investigating the root cause for any technical problem/issue. You seek new knowledge and improve your skills by learning from mistakes. 

The ideal candidate is able to facilitate transition of product design and enhancements to full production/delivery and possess the following qualifications/experience;

 

• Master’s degree (or equivalent)

• Up- to-date with newest technology within the field of mechanical construction

• Skilled Creo user

• Experience within the field of Medical device research and documentation

• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience 

 

Desired special skills: 

• Experience within medical devices or In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) market

• Statistical knowledge (e.g. Design of Experiment)

• Tolerance chain analysis and error budget

• Experience with technical management in cross functional teams
