Radiometer is a worldwide leader in the Transcutaneous (TC) business. To keep this leading position, Radiometer develops our TC system and applications to meet customer needs. 

We are looking for a system engineer with electronic background to join Radiometer’s TC System Develop-ment team. You become part of an interdisciplinary team with diverse backgrounds related to chemistry, electronics, mechanics, and software engineers. 

Your system overview is key to develop the right solutions to both existing and new platforms. You know what it takes to develop and maintain a medical device and can expect to use your knowledge and experience to ensure compliance to current standards throughout the design process.

 

Calculations, Test Setup and Overview of Key Responsibilities

One day you might be planning a good setup to investigate how quickly sensor fluids evaporate from the sensors. Taking into consideration how to build a model for the different variables from humidity conditions and temperatures and then how to set up the right test to show if theory meets practice.  If you have the skills and interests, LabVIEW can be the tool to use for the simulations. 

The next day you might be engaged in ensuring how we best integrate and define a new HW addition to our monitor by defining the right requirements and acceptance criteria. You will discuss possible design failure modes with other engineers and may consults our usability or risk manager to get input on the consequence of the changes. You could reach out to the production to get input if processes are affected there. All to prepare for a design review in the team to make a decision on how to move on. 

A key to success is understanding multiple technical areas and how they interact on a system level. The system components usually operates flawlessly separately, but your system overview and technical knowhow ensures that the components continue to do so when they are put together. Your responsibilities and tasks include:

 

• Maintaining the system overview coordinating between the chemistry, software, mechanics and electronics areas.

• Evaluating electrical systems, products, components, and applications by FMEA and by planning and conducting experiments.

• Write Technical documentation including requirements

• Maintain knowledge within the field of electronics and optical technology as well as for Medical Devices.

Qualifications 

We believe that the following formal qualifications improve your chances of success:

• Relevant educational background within electronics or similar, combined with minimum 5 years of work experience with systems engineering.

• Minimum 3 years of experience with risk analysis and requirement management from a similar role in a regulated environment, preferably from the medical device or IVD industry.

• Experience with work in multidisciplinary project teams (possible team lead) in all project phases.

• LabVIEW programming of test setups

• Experience with transfer of design from R&D to production

• Fluent in spoken and written English is required, Danish is an asset

 

Experience with test management, product risk management, defect management, etc. would be highly appreciated. The job does not require a lot of travelling, but as we are a global company with R&D colleagues in Basel, there is an opportunity to travel approximately 10-20 days per year.
