We are offering a challenging position as Medical Director, Clinical Science in the Gastroenterology Franchise of Clinical Research and Drug Development. You will report to the Vice President of Gastroenterology YOUR EXPECTATIONS You will provide medical expertise on gastroenterology to the Gastroenterology Global team, and medical support on Gastroenterology projects at all stages of drug development, including early clinical development and translational medicine. You will lead the global team in critical drug development projects in order to provide better medical therapies in the management of gastrointestinal disease including: · Preparation of the clinical development plans, including the Investigator Brochures, protocols, study reports, and the regulatory dossier, as well as analysis for abstracts and publications. · Medical monitoring in clinical trials, in collaboration with Global Pharmacovigilance. · Medical evaluation of in-licensing gastrointestinal therapeutic opportunities · Ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements. · Maintain relationships with external gastroenterology specialists and work closely with external regulatory bodies including the EMA and the FDA. · Leadership of the gastroenterology team at the Ferring International PharmaScience Center and knowledge sharing to the rest of the department and organisation. OUR EXPECTATIONS We expect you to be a Medical Doctor preferably with a PhD or an advanced science degree with at least 3 – 5 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry. You should have previous experience in clinical trials and a thorough knowledge and understanding of clinical research. The preferable candidate is also a specialist within gastroenterology. As a successful candidate we expect you to be innovative, flexible and result-oriented with good communication, leadership and interpersonal skills. Furthermore it’s essential that you are a self-starter and are focused on delivering high quality. You can work independently with large tasks, but are also keen on maintaining a close collaboration with colleagues in the team and other departments in a multicultural environment in a changing and evolving global company. Finally, fluency in English both spoken and written is essential for this position.
