In Global Development, we are responsible for managing clinical drug development worldwide from early development phases through product approval and beyond. We ensure medical and scientific documentation for clinical submissions and authorities by living up to uniform global standards, regulations and business ethics. About the Department Due to a growing activity level, we are looking to employ several Medical Doctors across our clinical development organisation. Dependent on your background and interest, you could be appointed to late or early stage projects within diabetes, obesity, growth hormone disorders or medical devices. The Medical & Science teams are responsible for the medical and scientific support to clinical development project as well health authority interactions. We are responsible for the planning and execution of clinical trials from phase 2-4 including design of new clinical studies, collaboration with clinical operational staff, investigators and scientific experts as well as analysing, interpreting and concluding on the data and supporting communication of these data at scientific meetings or to regulatory authorities. Our organisation is project-centric and internally we work in cross-functional teams typically including e.g. project managers, medical marketing, statistics, clinical operations and medical writers. Our key external stakeholders are the scientific community and medical experts, regulatory authorities and healthcare payers. Medical & Science provides a strong scientific community and we are organised in smaller units for each clinical project. The Job As a Medical Doctor, you can take on a role as International Medical Manager or International Medical Director, both broad role where focus and daily tasks vary to a great extent, depending on the different projects and their development stage. As an International Medical Manager, you will collaborate with your medical colleagues in interpretation and documentation of clinical data potentially leading to new drug applications (NDA’s) or variation applications. Introduction to clinical trial design and writing of trial outlines/study protocols will also give you an important opportunity to develop your skills in the drug development area. Finally, supporting the medical assessment of safety data with our drugs and device in clinical development can also become part of your responsibility. Staying up to date on medical literature and participation in congresses is part of the job. As an International Medical Director, you will participate in projects across several stages of the clinical development cascade. We expect that you take on the responsibility as the medical lead in either early or late stage clinical development projects, collaborate closely with your team colleagues and other stakeholders, including the Project Vice President. Your area of responsibility will be to provide the medical expertise and to ensure relevant progression and decision making while ensuring adequate stakeholder management. Your tasks could also include being instrumental in providing medical and scientific interpretation and documentation of clinical data leading to new drug applications (NDA’s) or variation applications, as well as regular safety updates on marketed drugs and drugs in clinical development.
