We are looking for an optical R&D engineer to take part in our development of planar lightwave circuit (PLC) optical components. Key tasks: Carry out characterization, measurements, experiments and tests of PLC components in our Test & Measurement lab. Develop and automate the R&D measurements on the existing setups, as well as building new R&D measurements setups. Perform physical and statistical analysis of the results obtained from the experiments, and develop necessary tools to perform the analysis. Qualifications You are strong both in experimental work, and theoretical insight. You may hold a Ph.D. degree with a relevant profile of optics or physics (or a M. Sc. degree with several years of experience in test and measurement). Skills in fiber optical test and measurement are desirable. Preferably, you will also have skills in the following areas: • Optical components • Physical property of materials • Programming (we currently use LabVIEW, SQL database, R, C#) Working experience from a high-tech manufacturing company will be an advantage. Personal skills You are action-oriented and highly motivated in solving problems. You are systematic, determined and analytical, and can prioritize multiple tasks in an ever-changing workday. You are used to planning and managing your time, meeting deadlines and working with multiple projects. You are outgoing and can communicate easily with a wide range of people in an international organization. We are 100% owned by the Chinese company Accelink Technologies Co., Ltd., that is located in the "Optical Valley" in Wuhan, China.
