As the Packaging Innovation Director, you will be responsible for developing Carlsberg group’s global packaging vision, strategy and NPD pipeline. You orchestrate the agenda to create value through packaging solutions and you foster a culture of unparalleled innovation to make our 500+ brands across the group famous in consumers’ minds and hearts. Your key accountabilities and responsibilities: Consumer, shopper and customer understanding •Build deep understanding of key consumer, shopper and customer trends in top 15 markets •Work in partnership with Regions and Insights team, to ensure robust situation assessment as critical input into annual planning process Establish deep & broad knowledge of packaging platforms/technology levers and trends to design group packaging strategy •Champion relationships to packaging suppliers and packaging trend agencies to be at the forefront of packaging technological change •Leverage Foresight and Insight to integrate in strategic planning •Develop insight-based group packaging vision, strategy and prioritised 3 years road map Develop winning packaging propositions/solutions that drive profitable growth •Work with packaging suppliers to deliver consumer and shopper preferred packaging solutions •Drive business cases for each project to maximize ROIC •Manage and prioritise resources (both financial and personnel) to deliver projects timely and in line with stage gate process Creating winning team •Provide strong leadership, coaching and guidance to experienced Packaging Development Managers •Develop packaging development network across Group, Regions and Top 15 Country Marketing teams We are looking for a candidate who: •is an experienced packaging development leader with 12+ years experience from a top-tier FMCG (beverages) company, where he/she acquired strong functional skills in innovation management with specific packaging development expertise as well as consumer/shopper/customer understanding •Completely masters the innovation stage gate process (from concept to execution), excels in project management and is able to focus on innovation leadership with strong anticipation of issues and risk management skills •Has excellent business, financial and commercial acumen to drive ROIC business casing •Can translate insights into action, has deep analytical skills, effective "synthesis" strategic skills and strategy articulation/integration •Comfortably collaborates and communicates upwards, downwards and sideways. Is adept at operating cross-functionally and at managing a complex matrix set of stakeholders. Demonstrates an ability to work across various cultures and geographies. •Demonstrates strong leadership and people collaboration skills, is a team player and tackles issues with humble confidence. •Has strong communications skills in both written and verbal forms, with an ability to keep things simple and infect others with a passion for winning •Graduated from a leading business school or engineering school with ideally an MBA As a person you have world–class ability to convert strategies to reality.
