- Patents - Denmark - Bagsværd In this job you will get the opportunity to work with protecting the latest new diabetes and obesity drugs in collaboration with Novo Nordisk researchers in Denmark and USA. About the department The job is located in Novo Nordisk’s patent department in Bagsværd, Denmark, where more than 20 patent attorneys work to ensure exclusivity and freedom to operate for new and existing pharmaceutical products and devices developed at our Research and Development (R&D) sites in Denmark, USA and China. You will have the opportunity to work closely with dedicated researchers of many nationalities, and can expect around 20 days of travel per year. The position You will be responsible for supporting research projects in Denmark as well as at Novo Nordisk’s new research facility in Indianapolis, USA. At the new research site, you will be responsible for introducing the Novo Nordisk patenting culture and act as the go-to person for all patent matters. You will be working closely with the research project management and scientists to create and implement patent strategies for your projects, as well as identifying and managing any freedom to operate issues. You will also manage the prosecution and maintenance of existing diabetes and obesity patent rights related to the work carried out at the Indianapolis site. Ensuring exclusivity for new products is essential for Novo Nordisk’s business, and you can make a difference by being a central part of the innovation process. Qualifications You hold a scientific degree in organic chemistry, pharmacy or similar, and have at least a few years of experience with drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the protein or peptide drug area. You have passed or are working towards passing the European Qualifying Examination. You are able to work independently and effectively to meet set targets, and leverage your rapport with your key stakeholders to ensure high impact of your communication and smooth collaboration, even at a distance.
