The CoaST Research Centre at DTU Chemical Engineering seeks qualified candidates for Post Doc positions in new fields of functional coatings and testing methods.
The Research Center CoaST
The activities in CoaST cover coating technologies from raw materials, over formulation, test and characterization to production and application. In the broad perspective, the center will support development, production and use of high performance coatings with improved sustainability profiles over the lifetime of the coating. Areas of research are anticorrosive coatings for steel structures, blade coatings for wind turbines, intumescent coatings for passive fire protection, antifouling coatings for ships, insulation coatings for heat loss reduction, coatings for the cement- and mineral industries, and coatings for oil- and gas pipelines at high temperature and high pressure.
Post Doc positions
For the performance evaluation of coatings for the heavy duty industry, it is a requirement to develop reliable and fast (accelerated) testing methods. In addition, functional coatings, combined with sustainable profiles from production to application over service life and removal/disposal, is gaining increased interest. We expect these two fields to grow in CoaST over the coming years.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a PhD in chemical (or process/production) engineering and knowledge of coatings, for the testing part preferably with acquired skills in design, construction and validation of advanced laboratory setups. It is a requirement that scientific manuscripts in peer reviewed WOS journals have been prepared and published as part of the candidate's PhD study.

Salary and appointment terms
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union. The period of employment is 2 years.
