Postdoc in Immune Involvement in Therapeutic Models of Cancer

A postdoctoral position is available in the ‘T cell recognition and Cancer’ group headed by Associate Professor Sine Reker Hadrup at the Section of Immunology and Vaccinology, at the Technical University of Denmark, Veterinary Institute, Frederiksberg. The ‘T cell recognition and Cancer’ group is currently consisting of 15 people, including Postdocs, PhD students, Technicians and undergraduate students. The overall aim of the research group is to gain novel insight to T cell recognition of cancer and autoimmune diseases, through use and development of novel technologies. Responsibilities and tasks The postdoc will be responsible for a project focusing on the immune involvement in radiotherapy and the effect of combining radiotherapy and immune therapy. This has proven a promising strategy to boost the immune infiltration and induce tumor cell killing. In mouse models, we will assess the immunological factors contributing to this effect. In addition, through the use of MHC multimers we will assess the specific recognition of antigens induced during such therapy, with specific focus on the impact of neoantigens. We will specifically assess the CD8 T cell recognition in these models through application of a novel MHC multimer-based technology, developed in the research group. The project is closely related to other ongoing project in the group, and collaboration and shared responsibility across projects in the research team is expected. The task includes multicolor flow cytometry of diverse immune cell subsets, selection of targets for immune recognition based on gene expression or deep sequencing analysis. T cell recognition is assessed through use of in house produced peptide-MHC multimers. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. It is important that the applicant has knowledge in the field of T cell immunology, cancer biology, and tumor immunology. Additionally experience with use of MHC-multimers for T cell detection is preferred. Experience with Flow Cytometry is required.
