A postdoctoral position is available at DTU Environmental Engineering from April 1, 2015. The successful candidate will be working in the membrane group which belongs to the urban water engineering section. The overall research area focuses on membrane-based water treatment and reuse with a particular focus on the water-energy nexus. The position offers an opportunity to work with an international, dynamic and multi-disciplinary project. The studies will be carried out within the Section of Urban Water Engineering. Responsibilities and tasks •Overall responsibility for coordinating daily activities in the membrane laboratory of the biomimetic membrane group. •Design and execution of membrane experiments within the areas of osmotic bioreactors, reverse electrodialysis and pressure retarded osmosis. •Communication with collaborators, at DTU and with external partner(s) •Drafting manuscripts describing membrane processes. •Research with some teaching (e.g. supervision of B.Sc. and M.Sc. students). It may also involve handling other assignments to a limited extent. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree in chemical/environmental engineering with a strong experimental background in membrane technology and •A strong commitment to research. •Enthusiasm for working with research students. •Independence and good communication skills. Applicants should have a thorough interest in membrane processes experimentally as well as theoretically. The ideal candidate has extensive experience with experimental membrane technology and associated analytical tools, ideally combined with some expertise in theoretical (computational fluid dynamics) analysis as well. Furthermore, a strong desire to take responsibility and to work in a highly dynamic environment is preferred.
