Postdoc in Unburned Methane Emissions from Marine Diesel Engines

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DTU Mechanical Engineering) at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has an open Postdoc position in the field of modelling of formation of unburned methane in natural gas driven combustion engines. The Postdoc will be working on the project “Blue INNOship – Reduction of methane from LNG in diesel engines” which is co-funded by Danish Maritime Fund, Innovation Fund Denmark, MAN Diesel & Turbo SE, DTU Chemical Engineering, and DTU Mechanical Engineering. Responsibilities and tasks The candidate will be responsible for development of mathematical models that describe the chemical and thermodynamic processes related to the formation of unburned methane in combustion engines. The models should be verified by experimental data from a research engine in the institutes laboratory as well as from data obtained from engines in operation on board ships. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent.
