Postdoc in Video Communication Technology for Drones

DTU Fotonik invites applications for a position as Postdoc within The Coding and Visual Communication Group at DTU Fotonik financed by a grant from the Danish EUDP programme with a starting date of December 1, 2015. The Coding & Visual Communication Group conducts research in the areas of communication technology, image and video coding and error-correcting coding. Responsibilities and tasks The candidate shall conduct research within video communication of RGB and IR video and image data to be captured and processed on a drone and communicated to the ground. The position will involve close collaboration with the industrial partners of the EUDP project. Apart from the research outlined above, the position will involve a limited amount of teaching mainly in the form of supervising student projects. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent and research experience in •Video coding as H.264/MPEG4 AVC and H.265 HEVC •Video quality assessment of coded video •Adaptive or variable bit-rate •Machine learning techniques applied to video.
