Do you have a technical background and ideally experience with mechanical/physical tests? Can you keep a secret and would you like to get close to ensure that our products are safe to play with? Test primarily new but also existing elements You will become part of Mechanical & Physical Approval, a department of 7 dedicated colleagues. Here, you make sure that LEGO Products live up to relevant quality and safety standards and: - Conduct both simpler and more complex physical and mechanical product tests in accordance with the specifications in our Product Safety Handbook - Create reports for each completed test and be responsible for approving or rejecting an element - Help define the tests for each new element by imagining what a child might do with a LEGO Element - Be included in informal sparring as to what a safe design for a new element might be Collaborate with colleagues to enhance safe play In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with new LEGO Products and influence the design process as you will serve as the children’s advocate and ensure that all parts are safe for play. Thus, you test every possible scenario that may cause a child to get injured by applying your technical skills, creativity and understanding of children’s behaviour. We collaborate across a large span of the organisation in an international and trusting environment, and your daily work place will be the lab where designers often come by with questions or need input from you. You will thus get very close to product development and the creative core of the LEGO Group, so you must be able to keep a secret. A dedicated team player with strong technical skills You have great collaboration and communication skills and thrive in an extrovert position where you sometimes have to convince others about your ideas. At the same time, you like being thorough and delve into the details in a lab, as you are responsible for testing products that will ultimately reach the hands of children. Moreover: - You probably have a technical education or a degree at Academy Profession level – perhaps you are an Academy Profession Graduate in Chemical and Biotechnical Sciences (formerly Laboratory Technician), a tool maker or a machine technician - It is a great advantage, but not a requirement, if you have knowledge about plastics - Ideally, you have experience in working in a laboratory and with testing, preferably within the mechanical/physical area - It is also a plus, if you have experience with SAP and Sharepoint - You can speak and write English at user level Join the global LEGO Family In the LEGO Group, we succeed together, and you will be part of a global family where you will collaborate and have fun.
