Project Manager – Sustainable Packaging Procurement

Core responsibilities

You will be part of our Global Packaging Procurement team, reporting to the Senior Director of Packaging procurement, with the responsibility of coordinating and executing procurement related activities in the Sustainable agenda.

With a dotted line you will be a part team member in a cross functional project team with other employees from quality, engineering, design and environmental responsibility etc. with the aim to take projects from R&D to implementation at suppliers and in the factories globally. The team is headed up by the Senior Project Manager of the sustainability projects.

Your main responsibilities as Project Manager – Sustainable Packaging Procurement will be to:

• Act as the Procurement one-point of entry within sustainable projects and collaborate closely with the category buyers in the Global Packaging Procurement team.

• Ensure that products and Services are delivered successfully to ensure project completion.

• Provide numbers and data for budget and investment preparation such as material pricing and decision documents towards Sustainable materials governance.

• Ensure compliance with Procurement Process and as well mandatory requirements are met before implementing any new material (chemical compliance, ethical code of conduct, environmental, legal compliance etc.)

• Proactively keep up to date on innovations and scan the market to find new opportunities by using existing tools and channels.

• Negotiate, prepare and approve external agreements while ensuring that the objectives defined by project team and procurement are implemented in the contract.

• Facilitate innovation brief processes with suppliers on new product innovation.

• Execute sourcing and price strategies incl. global avalibility.

The Global Packaging Procurement team is responsible for managing the supplier platform of packaging. The team is responsible for sourcing and defining the global category direction, including supply market intelligence, vendor selection and global contracting.

You will be based at our headquarters in Billund and travel 15-20 days per year to partners who are based all over the world or colleagues at our production sites.

Do you have what it takes?

Relationship management professional and strong team player
This role will challenge your ability to balance stakeholder management with negotiations and nurture collaborations across a major company and with our partners. Apart from that, you probably:

- Have 3-5 years of procurement experience

- Have 3 years’ experience with contract management, including contracting development projects

- Have worked with sustainability before, ideally with sourcing for sustainable products

- Hold a university degree within supply chain/engineering/procurement, ideally combined with experience with innovation/development from a commercial perspective

- Speak and write English effortlessly
