Vestas Manufacturing & Global Sourcing, Towers, Casting & Blades, Glass Fibre & Chemicals Vestas Global Sourcing is overall responsible for all supply chain management activities within Vestas Wind System A/S, including leading cross functional category teams, negotiations, cost out initiatives, category strategy development and implementation, quality and delivery performance, supplier relationship management and supplier account management. The category for which the Purchasing Manager is needed is Glass Fibre & Chemicals within the blades area, and specifically Prepreg. This area consists of 10+ strategic suppliers with a total 3 digit million EUR spend per year. The category is globally responsible for the entire supply chain for 9 factories worldwide, and is an essential part of the blades that Vestas A/S manufactures. Responsibilities: You will lead key initiatives in Global Sourcing focused on supply chain optimization. Working closely with, and lead, the Category Team as well as interact with key stakeholders. You will be responsible for: Optimization the current supply base including the cost base. Ensure best in class performance and supply chain setup. Lead the category team, consisting of members from R&D, Production Engineering and Quality, working across different business units within Vestas, as well as drive, develop and implement category strategies. Drive continuous improvement programs both internally and at the suppliers with special focus on total cost saving initiatives, supplier optimization and component standardization. Ensure adherence to KPI’s set by Global Sourcing in regards to safety, quality, cost, delivery, innovation and sustainability. Lead selection, qualification, negotiation and contracting of potential suppliers within the category, as well as participate in development projects, providing input for next generation blades. Qualifications: The successful candidate: Relevant educational background with a degree in either Supply Chain Management, Finance/Accounting, Sales/Marketing or Engineering. Minimum 3- 5 years of work experience within strategic purchasing. Excellent communication skills including fluent English skills (both orally and in writing). Must be advanced within PPT, Excel & Word. A strong analytical, structured and fact based approach. A strong leader and influencer with the ability to bring people together.
