TORM is currently looking for an ambitious professional who has an excellent record of accomplishment in the purchasing world. You will be responsible for locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for the components, materials and services TORM needs.   

What we can offer  

You will become part of our Procurement, Purchasing and Logistics team in Copenhagen and will have a close cooperation with your peers across continents servicing our global fleet of product tanker vessels, working especially close with our Vessel Management teams.   As a Purchasing Manager, you will consider all aspects of the relationship with suppliers, including quality, value and the ability to respond quickly to changing supply requirements. You will act as a “spider in the web” accentuating purchases under strong frame agreements that are reflective of our supply chain needs and backed up in compliant catalogues.  Dynamism is expected in the position which fundamentally is led by an excellent understanding and knowledge of total cost of ownership principles. The primary role is to ensure the successful day-to-day running of our fleet, with the great opportunity to shape the operational world.     

Your tasks will include: 

• Operational purchasing 
• Occasional project sourcing 
• Negotiations 
• Logistics forwarding and planning 
• Supplier relationship management 

To succeed in the job 

You have significant experience within purchasing and supply chain as well as experience with negotiation and project management. You thrive in a fast changing and dynamic environment, and you are able to build effective working relationships with supply partners and internal stakeholders across business units and continents.   

Furthermore, you have/are:  

• Knowledge from the shipping or transportation industry combined with a technical interest and background  
• Good analytical skills to assess the performance of suppliers against criteria such as quality, cost, reliability, ability to innovate and financial stability  
• Financial understanding to assess the total cost of dealing with a supplier, including price and factors such as the costs of delivery, administration quality control and inventory 
• Very structured and enjoy taking initiative and responsibility 
• Fluent in both spoken and written English  
• Willingness to conduct business travel as required.
