The Human Factors research group of DTU Management Engineering offers a time limited and part time position as research assistant. The Human Factors research group applies behavioural and engineering sciences to the design, implementation and evaluation of products, services and systems and, more generally, working and living environments. Its research domains extend from healthcare to production, service and transport. Key scientific areas include human perception and performance, information processing, attention, emotional and affective processes, stress and safety in combination with engineering principles.

The research relates to explain and model how human perception and performance, information processing, attention, emotional and affective processes, beliefs and attitudes, stress and safety affect behavior and behavioral changes in working or living environments, especially with regard to novel technologies. For the particular position the research, focus is on understanding cultural diversity of communication mediated by computer system. The research includes field experiments in Denmark and Japan.

Responsibilities and tasks 
Your responsibilities and tasks will include: 

• Literature reviews
• Pilot studies and full scale experiments
• Data analyses
• Reporting and publications

Qualifications
Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. We are seeking applicants who has a strong background in design, visual communication and living lab methods.

In the assessment of the applications, emphasis will be put on the following qualifications: 

• Experience in interdisciplinary research in human factors and ICT design
• Experience in publication in international journals
• Experience in adapting and applying research insights for industry
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary and international environment
• Communication skills in Danish, English and Japanese

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The position is part-time (50% of a full position) and the period of employment is from 1 December 2018 and until 15 May 2019.
