Research Assistant in LCA of solid waste management systems

The Department of Environmental Engineering invites applications for a position as Research Assistant in the solid waste research group. The group works with a number of aspects of residual resource engineering, especially with focus on measuring and modelling of environmental treatment Technologies. The Research Assistant will work together with Senior Researcher Anders Damgaard as main supervisor and will also have collaboration with PhD Students and Researchers within the research group, focusing on carrying out LCA studies and data inventory work on waste and bioenergy systems. Responsibilities and tasks The Research Assistant will work with the following research topics: •Development of data for the LCA software EASETECH •Systems analysis in the LCA software EASETECH •Assist in article writing •Quality control of data developed by other members of the research group Other content of the position: •Involvement in handling other assignments to a limited extent in both research and teaching may be required. Qualifications Candidates should have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent. The candidate is expected for have qualifications and documented experience within the following areas: •Waste management, waste technologies and waste system analysis •LCA principles and standards •Previous hands-on modelling experience with the LCA tool EASETECH The candidate must have analytical skills, research potential, be well-organized and enterprising and possess good interpersonal skills needed to collaborate with other university departments and private companies. Experience with related aspects will be positively taken into consideration. The candidate must have the ability to master English, spoken as well as written English.
