The Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre (Centre for Oil and Gas – DTU), Technical University of Denmark (DTU), invites applicants for research assistant positions on numerical modelling of flow and transport in fractured media. Centre for Oil and Gas – DTU is established by the Danish Underground Consortium and DTU.

 

Responsibilities and tasks

The position will be an integrated part of the advanced water flooding programme with the focus on improving our understanding of coupled THMC proccesses in fractured media. The project involves numerical simulations and field studies on sustainable and efficient productivity / injectivity enhancement methods. Different numerical models will be utilised for testing and studying different methods. He/She will participate in a growing cross-disciplinary research program, involving several researchers at DTU and other Danish universities, research institutes, and industry.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant areas;
• Profound Knowledge of the fundamentals of flow and geomechanics in porous media;
• Excellent skills in numerical modelling and programming;
• Previous experience in using geomechanical models (e.g. Abaqus) or/and in computaional fluid dynamic is preferred.
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment as an independent researcher;
• Good writing and communication skills in English;

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

 

The period of employment is two years (full-time or part-time) with the possibility of starting a PhD study.
