Application date Sunday, December 6, 2015 - 23:59 Location Lyngby, Denmark The syngas department is part of the Chemicals R&D which employs 90 engineers, chemists, physicists and technicians dedicated to the development of heterogeneous catalysts and catalytic processes for the conversion of natural gas, coal and biomass into fuels and chemicals. We have made a significant contribution within product development for new applications in this area and have an open position for a new engineer or scientist. As our new colleague you will be part of a team working on developing catalysts and catalytic processes for new applications in a very dynamic working environment where the development direction is adjusted according to progress and market input. You will work in close collaboration with highly skilled technicians, engineers and scientists and you will be responsible for planning, executing, and evaluating catalyst tests. The job has great potential for personal and professional development and, looking ahead, obvious opportunities to take on more responsibility for development tasks and projects, science and technology as well as scientific leadership The successful applicant will be a highly skilled chemical engineer or scientist eager to make a difference and ready to participate in laboratory work with a hands-on approach, analyse data, dive into the science and engineering of catalyst development, challenge current knowledge and methodology and engage in constructive collaboration with team and stakeholders. Your responsibilities •Participate in the development of catalyst and catalytic processes •Design, participate in and evaluate laboratory experiments •Design and develop laboratory test methods and equipment You •Have a great interest in converting scientific understanding into product development •Are able to quickly understand new working areas •Enjoy working hands-on - engaged in project and laboratory work •Are committed to cross disciplinary collaboration with technicians, engineers, scientists and business developers •Driven and prepared to challenge current approaches •Excel in optimizing test procedures and equipment •Thrive in a changing working environment Qualifications You have a masters degree or PhD in chemical engineering, materials or technical physics, catalysis or similar areas with no or few years of work experience. You have insight into material science and physical chemistry and some practical experience with laboratory work.
