DTU Nanotech at the Technical University of Denmark invites applications for a 3 year position as Research Scientist in Drug Delivery and Nanomedicine. DTU Nanotech is a department with the overall mission of contributing to research, development and education within life science and biomedical engineering and has a strong tradition for conducting applied research for the benefit of society. The Department actively contributes to basic research, where the aim is to develop methods and concepts as well as to enhance the insight in nanotechnology. Nanotechnology research goes across the boundaries between the traditional scientific fields. Within life science and biomedical engineering, the department is particularly strong within fields like drug delivery, nanomedicine, lab-on-a-chip systems and biomaterials science. The research is often carried out in close collaboration with industry and universities around the world. DTU Nanotech wishes to strengthen the activities in drug delivery and nanomedicine with focus on experimental research and applications in therapy and diagnostics. The position is affiliated with the newly established Center of Nanomedicine and Theranostics and the successful candidate will be part of a Center with state-of-the-art facilities within the above-mentioned areas. Responsibilities and tasks DTU Nanotech therefore seeks an research scientist who can undertake a leading research role in drug delivery and nanomedicine within the following areas: •Design of novel therapeutic concepts in drug delivery for treatment of cancer •Establish mouse cancer models •Establish methods for analyzing the tumor microenvironment including immune cell profiling As research scientist at DTU Nanotech you are expected to strive for scientific excellence within your field. Qualifications Candidates should have a PhD degree or equivalent. Further qualifications: •Candidates should already have obtained a well-documented research output in international recognized journals within their research field. Employment implies original research at high international level within the above mentioned research themes. •It is considered important that the candidate has a collaborative nature and a positive approach to challenges.
