Always a varied working day
The purpose of our Risk Management function is to help the company manage and control the risk we take on from our activities. As part of the Risk team you will help manage the risk of loss of earnings arising from changes in the value of our portfolio driven by changes in price, from tomorrow up to 15 years in the future. The team has primary responsibility for the identification, measurement, control and reporting of price risk.
You will play a key role in controlling and reporting risk and helping to develop the function as Centrica Energy Trading grows and develops their business model. You will continuously be challenged around risk measurement and methodology, processes and procedures whilst having close, daily interaction with the commercial teams and business units across the company. Specifically, the Risk Manager will:
- Support the team in controlling and reporting risk within the Centrica Energy Trading business
- Create a strong risk presence and promote risk discussion in the Aalborg office, alongside building strong relationships across the Centrica Energy Trading business
- Provide timely risk insights into the origination portfolio to senior management
- Maintain and share strong knowledge of renewable portfolios and keep abreast of developments in the energy markets
- Analyse new deals and identify embedded risks using modelling tools and other methods. Prepare new business reviews and strategic papers.
- Work with relevant business teams to implement new business and product frameworks and integrate changes into the current policies, processes and systems

You have excellent attention to detail with good problem-solving skills. You are confident and determined to succeed in a dynamic business environment. And finally, having strong interpersonal skills and an ability to interact and communicate at all levels is a must have in this position. Further we expect you are dedicated, efficient and not afraid to take responsibility.
You also have:
- Minimum a Bachelor Degree in a numerical subject
- Experience from the energy market or experience from a Risk role
- A strong independent mind in executing responsibilities alongside maintaining effective working relationships across the organisation
- Confidence, presence, resilience and determination to succeed in a dynamic and demanding business environment
- Excellent attention to detail, with good problem solving and root cause identification skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact and communicate at all levels
