Novo Nordisk Pharmatech A/S (NNPR) has an ambitious commercial strategy aiming to bring new high-end biopharmaceutical products to market. The ambitiousness of the strategy set the scene for the Sales & Marketing Director, who is pivotal in driving sales and thus making investments in new product development possible. Our current Sales & Marketing Director has just accepted new international challenges internally in Novo Nordisk and we are therefore looking for his successor.

About the position:

The key responsibilities for the Sales & Marketing Director are to manage and promote global sales of NNPR products, manage and optimize customer service and shipping tasks and develop sales- and marketing strategies for NNPR’s external business areas.

The Sales & Marketing Director is responsible for identifying business opportunities within NPNRs external business areas and for identifying new business areas and opportunities. The key tasks are to analyse opportunities and prepare business cases for these opportunities. We also expect you to identify and analyse new business areas and opportunities and prepare business cases for these opportunities to be presented for Board of Directors for approval

The Sales and Marketing Director has app. 10 direct reports organised in sales, marketing and customer service units. The salesforce is located in Denmark, UK and Singapore and the department is expected to grow in the future.

 

The Sales and Marketing Director position is based in Køge, Denmark and report to the CEO of the company and is a part of the management team.

 

Qualifications:

The Sales and Marketing Director must hold a MSc. or PhD in Biotechnology, biochemistry or related sciences combined with a longer commercial education e.g. Graduate Diploma in Business Administration (International Management and Economics), MBa or eMBa. Combination of commercial and pharmaceutical education is an advantage.

Leadership and project management experience needed. Minimum 5 years of experience at Sales Director/Business Development Manager level with experience from international B-t-B sales and marketing activities required, preferably acquired within the pharmaceutical industry and biopharmaceutical industry. Experience from international assignment/expatriation is an advantage

The position requires strong analytical skills at a highly specialised level. A high degree of innovation and initiative is needed to drive the development of the business and to impact internal and external stakeholders. Ability to prepare sales- and marketing strategies and to predict the future requirements of the authorities and demands of the customers plays an important role in the innovation process. The Sales and Marketing Director is key in selection of new methods, processes, concepts, products and services in line with NNPRs aspiration and overall strategy.

It’s important that the Sales and Marketing Director is visionary, is able to think “out of the box” and capable of thinking strategically. A high degree of individual decision making needed to accomplish objectives as well as a ‘can-do’ attitude combined with a solid execution drive.

The Sales and Marketing Director must have a strong commercial mind set, be strong in economics, have excellent communication skills and must be a good inspiratory and motivator with employees, rest of the management team and stakeholders. Must have high business ethics and be a role model for others to follow. A high personal drive, endurance and self-motivation is key.
