AGC Biologics is a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) in continuous growth and we are currently looking for a new colleague to join us in Manufacturing. If you have an expertise within downstream manufacturing and would like to work with a variety of different biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes, this position will definitely be something for you. 

 

The position

The vacant position as downstream scientist is in our microbial manufacturing department, which produces therapeutic proteins for pre-clinical, clinical and commercial use for a wide range of different customers from around the world.

You will become part of an agile department of highly dedicated scientists and technicians working closely with the external customers and internal stakeholders like QA, QC and Development. Your main tasks will be to:

• Prepare batch production records.
• Plan and support the execution of recovery and purification steps in the manufacturing process. Examples of applied unit operations are centrifugation, homogenization, refolding, diafiltration and chromatography (e.g. AIEX and HIC).
• Act as manufacturing Subject Matter Expert during customer meetings and customer audits.
• Secure the timely release of the final drug substance in close collaboration with QA.

Experience and competencies

The candidate we are looking for has:

• A master’s degree or PhD in engineering, chemistry, biochemistry or related field.
• +5 years of experience working with recovery and purification processes.
• Experience working in a cGMP environment, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Excellent collaboration skills.
• Fluency in English, written and verbal.
• Experience using Lean principles.
