Our international bridge team have a full set of world-class competencies which in combination with local presence and experience allows our dedicated professionals to take on the most complex projects anywhere in the world. Currently our portfolio includes railway viaducts in Africa, elevated metro and complex interchanges for urban highway schemes in the Gulf region hereunder several bridge structures in the holy city of Mecca, cable stayed bridges in the Philippines, major marine crossings in India including a recent extradosed bridge in the Calcutta region. Further, we undertake bridge construction engineering in Montenegro and our aerodynamic specialists are involved in another record-span bridge project, whilst our structural health specialists are involved in monitoring schemes for the iconic New NY Bridge and Henry Hudson I89 Bridge.

Overview:

This is a superb opportunity for you to join of one of the industry's foremost bridge design consultancies, working within the Bridges International Department, based from our head office in Lyngby, Denmark

Following further contract awards in our global project portfolio, we are experiencing an increased demand for our services and our strengthened position in the market brings a continuous flow of new and challenging projects. Consequently, we are actively seeking to recruit professional career minded and technically strong senior concrete bridge engineers to join our highly skilled bridge design team. The role will see you working on a variety of projects and will offer you significant opportunities for skills and career development across a range of bridge and structures projects.

Requirements: knowledge, personal skills and experience required:

• You will hold either a Master's Degree, Chartered Status or a PE in civil engineering
• You will be a technically strong engineer with over 10 years post-graduation experience in bridge design
• You will have significant experience in the design of concrete bridge structures including proven experience within detailing of reinforcement and post tensioning systems
• You will be adept at working within a team environment with the ability to control, supervise, mentor and develop less experienced engineers
• You will be self-motivated with excellent communication skills
• You will possess strong analytical ability and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals and current design standards
• You will be able to communicate / liaise effectively and professionally with the design team, clients and contractors
• Ideally you will have experience of project management with a good understanding of commercial aspects of projects
• Ideally you have experience with design using 3D/BIM tools such as TEKLA or similar.
• You are ready to travel

Role Summary:

Reporting to the Head of Section, you will be responsible for delivering bridge and structures designs on a variety of projects, liaising with clients and mentoring / developing less experienced engineers. 

Duties & Responsibilities Include, but are not limited:

• Providing technical leadership to projects
• Assisting in the development of conceptual design and producing engineering designs and details in accordance with project requirements
• Preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of drawings
• Checking of design calculations and drawings completed by other engineers
• Discipline leadership on our projects
• Attending client meetings and building relationships with clients and other stakeholders
• Visits to site as required
• Providing input to project teams and leading by example
• Mentoring and developing less experienced team members to allow them to achieve their full potential
