Taking a position in Analytics is a step into a world of big data and advanced analytics. Banking is being disrupted by technology and customer behaviour, and one of many responses to that is to maximise the advantages we can harvest from our data asset by the use of advanced analytics. We exploit our data asset as the foundation for insight enabled to support business decisions and/or to create relevant and timely value propositions and communications to our customers. The position we offer You’ll take on a position as senior customer insight analyst/data scientist and have the opportunity to bring you competences to a group of very skilled analysts that share a passion for big data and advanced analytics. You’ll work with statistical modelling, optimisation and simpler logical modelling that derive insight on customer behaviour. Depending on your background and skills you can be a senior analyst or a data scientist. The Analytics department is the competence centre for advanced analytics in Retail Banking. The department was established late 2014 as a core element of our strategy and Nordea has huge expectations on the competitive advantage we aim to create from the use of advanced analytics. The department is Nordic, and you’ll have colleagues across all four Nordic countries. We have a close cooperation with the Sales & Marketing department and with the Strategy & Development department. Analytics covers the entire analytical value chain. From the development of IT tools and data foundation through mining data and building models and campaigns, to the development of self-service decision support and analysing on click data to optimise web journeys. Your colleagues will be a group of various analyst and IT profiles, ranging from PhD’s, engineers, statisticians to economists and IT developers. All striving to support great customer experiences and competitive advantage through data driven insight. The ideal candidate has knowledge of and experience in one or more of the disciplines of data science, behavioural analytics, modelling or other advanced analytics disciplines. Requirements: •A Master’s degree •Academic background that has given you a platform for working with analytical tools, data and statistical modelling •Experience in modelling on data (statistical and logical) to explore and discover business opportunities •Programming skills •Tool knowledge – we use tools like Hive, Spark, Python, R, SAS, SQL, Qlik etc •A substantial customer focus with ability to identify and understand the customer's needs •Creative problem solving and analytical skills •Experience from positions as data scientist, senior analyst or equal is an advantage •Good stakeholder communication skills •Excellent English language skills •Command of a Nordic language an advantage In addition, we expect you to have personal ambition and to be a team player.
